The 24 Hour Organising committee is excited to announce Swann Insurance as naming rights sponsor again this year, with Swann continuing for the 3rd year running.

The 24 hour is such a prestigious event within Australia and around the world Swann Insurance is very happy to continue to align our company with the event said David Boundy, Swann Insurance South Australian sales manager.

“Swann Insurance is a long established and very reputable company involved in the motorcycle industry, having them on board to support the “24” again this year is just phenomenal” Said committee chairman Brett Tomkins

Swann Insurance joins other event sponsors, Paradise Motors Mazda, GS Moto, Kawasaki Australia, Simpson Crash, Bills Motorcycles, City Discount Tyres Elizabeth, Coates Hire, Ellbourn Engineering, Micks Motorcycles and Schwartz Excavations to support what promises to be a great 2012 event.

With entries not due out until the start of April the interest already from interstate and locally has been outstanding, we have had contact with Ben Grabham from the KTM factory team to come over for the first time as well as local Yamaha riders and past winners Shane Diener, Sean Throup and Chris Power from New Zealand. These guys as well as Husaberg Mounted Nick and Tristan Throup will see it be a tough ask to be at the top after 24 hours.

The Swann 24hr will this year start from Kapunda on the 14th of July at 11.00am and traverse 4 laps of a 220km loop, Course organisers Shaun Blenkiron, Shane Schiller and Kym Tscharke have been working overtime with the local landowners and say this year’s course is looking to be one of the best we have had.

Aussie Riders doing well in Dakar

Australians should be proud of our lads riding in the Daker 2012, it is one of the very tough and expensive ones to compete in.

In the Bikes – On Stage 5 – currently leading the Aussies is local Davis Schwarz on a HUSABERG FE450 currently running 62nd, with Rodney Foggotter 113th, Mark Davison 121st, Craig Tarlington 124th, Dean Nuttall 145th, Jamie Chittick 159th.
